Rainelle
Greenbrier County
Nehi Bottling Co.
1920sā1993
The Nehi Bottling Co. of Rainelle goes back as far as 1928, when a report from the Bureau of the Census was written about them (Department of Commerce, 1929). This report states the owner is J.C. Cook at this time. I suspect that there is an embossed Nehi bottle if this is the case.
The Nehi Bottling Company of Rainelle organized in 1961, with its president and vice-president being R.H. Bowman and Emma Hunt Bowman respectively (WV Sec. State, n.d.). Their office, and perhaps plant, was located at 1527 Riverside Drive. In 1993, they changed their name to Royal Distributors, Incorporated, marking the end of this bottler.
